Mathesons' Auctions of Melbourne, Florida and United Appraisal Group of Miami, Florida are proud to present the lifetime collection of James W. Pihos of Las Olas Isles and two Miami estates at auction on May 5th and 6th, 2012.

Mr Pihos' discerning eye assisted him in putting together one of the finest collections of 18th and 19thc Chinese coral and ivory carvings which will be offered in the sale.

Other Chinese lots that will be sold on Saturday, May 5th will include: jade and other hardstone carvings, silver, porcelains and pottery, cloisonne, and cinnabar.  Saturday's sale will also consist of jewelry, watches and silver.  Jewelry will include Bulgari, Tiffany, Chanel, Corum, Caroline Dadlani, David Yurman, Girald Perregaux, south sea pearls, diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds and many other signed pieces.  Silver will include Georg Jensen, Tiffany, Gorham and antique English silver.

On Sunday, May 6th, we will be offering fine furniture, decorative arts, lighting and art.  Furniture will include a black lacquerware, ivory and ormolu mounted bedroom suite, carved rosewood Chinese furniture, a Louis XV ebony striking bracket clock c1750, signed bronze Gucci furniture and mirrors.  Decorative arts will include Japanese mixed metal vases, Meissen figural groups, Lalique, Steuben and Baccarat crystal, Picasso ceramics, Karl Mann vases and more.  There are three magnificent monumental bacarrat chandeliers, sconces and lamps and other lighting.  Paintings and works on paper will include: Tsuguharu Foujita, Auguste Rodin, Nicola Simbari, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Paul Jacoulet, Kitagawa Utamaro and many more.
